De Porron Karaf is een ontwerp van Zweitse Landsheer. Minimalistisch keramiek, dat is zijn handelsmerk. Deze charmante karaf is daar een perfect voorbeeld van. De naam van de karaf verwijst naar de Spaanse drinkbuidel, die door Spanjaarden ‘porron’ genoemd wordt. De lange tuit maakt het gemakkelijk op een vloeiende manier uit de karaf te schenken. Het vloeiend ontworpen handvat zorgt ervoor dat de karaf goed vast te houden is. En doordat de karaf van keramiek gemaakt is blijft de inhoud altijd lekker koel. Wel zo fijn!
Naast het feit dat de Porron Karaf erg praktisch is, steelt de karaf vooral de show door zijn ogenschijnlijk simpele en ingetogen ontwerp. Less is in dit geval zeker more, want de organische en vloeiende vormen maken deze karaf tot een waar kunstwerk. Door het keramiek lijkt de karaf wel een beeldhouwwerk dat door Zweitse Landsheer zorgvuldig geboetseerd is. De karaf is 36 centimeter hoog, 22 centimeter breed en 14 centimeter diep.
De Porron Karaf maakt deel uit van de collectie van Cor Unum. Deze karaf is voor Cor Unum een bijzonder item, want Zweitse Landsheer (1928 – 2010) is dertig jaar lang de creative director van Cor Unum geweest. Een paar jaar na de oprichting in 1953 werd Zweitse Landsheer bij het merk betrokken. Een goede zet, want onder zijn leiding maakte het Cor Unum de transitie van sociale werkplaats naar een fabrikant van hoogstaand aardewerk. En niet onbelangrijk: nog steeds biedt Cor Unum mensen met een achterstand op de arbeidsmarkt een nieuwe kans! Vandaag de dag werkt Cor Unum samen met een groot aantal ontwerpers, waardoor de collectie heel divers en bijzonder is. Een van die ontwerpers is dus Zweitse Landsheer. Voordat hij bij Cor Unum aan de slag ging, stond hij al bekend als de pionier van het minimalistische keramiek van de jaren ’50. Verschillende ontwerpen van hem, waaronder het Maestro servies voor de firma Goedewaagen, werden internationaal bekroond. Voor Cor Unum ontwierp Zweitse Landsheer verschillende verfijnde producten, waaronder de Porron Karaf.

Minimalist ceramics, that's his trademark. This charming carafe is a perfect example of this. The name of the carafe refers to the Spanish drinking pouch, which Spaniards call "porron". The long spout makes it easy to pour from the carafe in a smooth way. The smoothly designed handle ensures that the carafe is easy to hold. And because the carafe is made of ceramic, the contents always remain nice and cool. Very nice!
Besides the fact that the Porron Carafe is very practical, the carafe mainly steals the show due to its apparently simple and modest design. Less is certainly more in this case, because the organic and flowing shapes make this carafe a true work of art. The ceramics make the carafe look like a sculpture that has been carefully modeled by Zweitse Landsheer. The carafe is 36 cm high, 22 cm wide and 14 cm deep.
The Porron Carafe is part of the Cor Unum collection. This carafe is a special item for Cor Unum, because Zweitse Landsheer (1928 - 2010) was the creative director of Cor Unum for thirty years. A few years after its foundation in 1953, Zweitse Landsheer became involved with the brand. A good move, because under his leadership Cor Unum made the transition from sheltered workshop to a manufacturer of high-quality pottery. And not unimportantly: Cor Unum still offers people with a disadvantage in the labor market a new opportunity! Today, Cor Unum works together with a large number of designers, making the collection very diverse and special. One of those designers is Zweitse Landsheer. Before joining Cor Unum, he was known as the pioneer of minimalist ceramics of the 1950s. Several of his designs, including the Maestro tableware for the Goedewaagen company, were internationally awarded. Zweitse Landsheer designed various refined products for Cor Unum, including the Porron Carafe.
