The vineyards of Le Château are located on the first plateau, near Fages, about 20 km from Cahors.
The top layer of the vineyards consists of sandy pebble soils (Silice) with clay and iron in the soil. The bottom layer is formed by poor, calcareous plateaus. A type of terroir that is quite unique in Cahors.
The terroir type ensures highly digestible Malbec with a lot of elegance and floral aromas.
The average age of the vines is 30-35 years.
